TO TATOU MOEMOEA
The King’s Trust Aotearoa New Zealand is backing young New Zealanders as the designers, dreamers, creators and workers of a more equitable, sustainable and prosperous future.
We support young people to develop confidence and skills to; live, learn, earn and create a better future for us all.
Discover the stories of resilience, innovation and cultural revitalisation and witness the transformative power of seed funding.
Young people are launching thriving businesses and transforming their local communities, despite tough economic times and high youth unemployment. The King’s Trust Aotearoa New Zealand offers an integrated Enterprise journey for young people aged 17-30 years. It’s free and includes training, mentoring, funding and networking.
Following an interactive workshop, aspiring entrepreneurs write a business plan and budget, and pitch to He Kākano for seed grants of $5,000-$20,000. The Trust have matched $1-million from the Ministry of Youth Development via a powerful collaboration of corporate sponsors, philanthropic donors and community, with young people at the heart.
Art in the Park 2025 Charity of Choice
Josh Kiwikiwi, The King's Trust artist, 2025
Josh is a versatile self-taught artist, who intricately weaves human expression and cultural narratives into his work. Drawing inspiration from his Māori heritage and other indigenous cultures, his artistic journey is a visual exploration of storytelling.
Using diverse mediums such as oils, acrylics, aerosol, graphite, airbrushing, sculpture, and digital art, Josh navigates through realism, abstract, and contemporary styles.
Hailing from Whangārei, Northland, NZ. Josh aspires to carve out a sustainable future as a full-time artist. Overcoming a two-year art block and a hiatus from illustration and painting, he stands ready to share his revitalised creativity with his community and the wider Ao (world).
“The King’s Trust selected me as their Artist of the Year, and have given me the nudge forward in my artistic career, without whom I would not have had the many opportunities and exposure that came right when I need,” he said.
“This has been a dream of mine since the event first launched, and I’m incredibly grateful to be part of this year’s amazing lineup.”
